GDS was appointed to undertake the design and specification of a partial fire precautions upgrade of the block which is the largest tower block in the borough following a fire risk assessment.
GDS acted as lead designer and provided design for improvements to compartmentation, compartment fire doors, an alarm system, performance criteria for a sprinkler system, improved smoke ventilation, mechanical extraction in flats and access for appliances.
GDS obtained consents, prepared specifications and drawings and assisted in subcontract procurement packages.
